You’ve been there. All the chain hotels, the grand dames of tourism, the ho hum stays of the hoi polloi. Yet, the finest treasures are rarely found in the mainstream, but in the forgotten corners of the world. One such corner, just a whisper off the beaten path, is The Copperhead Lodge. It's not a hotel; it’s the lingering memory of a life lived fully.

Step out of your life and into a place where time slows, where the air smells of pine and fresh log fire. The kind of place where you half expect to see a white tail deer walk by your window, the evening sun painting the horizon in shades of rose and saffron. There are no phone calls, no deadlines, just the quiet rhythm of the day.

Your Getaway Destination

in The Blue Ridge Mountains

The Copperhead Lodge

Not a chain hotel - a lodge—a proper one, built from the land itself, with rough-hewn timbers that held the scent of the forest long after the trees have fallen. The kind of place where you leave your worries at the door and your boots, still caked with a bit of dust, by the great stone fireplace on the back deck.

The rooms are simple, but perfectly comfortable - suited to a traveler who appreciates an uncluttered mind. A fluffy duvet on the bed, warm even when the nights dip into the frosty Mountain autumn. Flat screen television, but who needs one when the window frames a masterpiece of a woodland view?

Evenings on the porch, and the quiet camaraderie of strangers who soon become something else entirely. Watch the sun dip behind the peaks, the fading light painting the landscape in shades of bruised purple and gold. Here, you don’t need anything more than the stillness and the knowledge that some places, thank God, still exist beyond the reach of the modern world.

If you find yourself yearning for an antidote to the ordinary, if you're looking for a little less "service" and a little more soul, you know what to do.
